Rachel Katz

PhD student; BA Archaeology: University of South Florida; MA Archaeology: University of Nottingham.

Rachel holds a BA in Archaeology from the University of Toronto, and Masters in Archaeology from the University of Nottingham. She has come to Florida State to pursue a PhD in Maritime Archaeology. Rachel’s interest in archaeology first peaked in high school after attending a field school in Israel. Rachel has since worked on digs in Ireland, Turkey, and Scotland, and has gained experience in CRM in her home province of Ontario. Rachel's interests include Assyrian ship iconography, early maritime travel, and underwater cultural heritage management.
