Sarah Moore Liko

PhD candidate, advisor Dr. Cheryl Ward; BA (2001) University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Anthropology and Classical Civilization

Research interests or current focus: My research interests are in Prehistoric Aegean archaeology, specifically the Bronze Age on mainland Greece. In 2004-2006 I excavated at Mitrou in central Greece. My current focus is on consumption patterns in the local sector of the Mycenaean economy. Basically I want to understand what kinds of goods people were using how that changed or didn't change over time with the rise and collapse of the palatial system. This research may shed light on the differing roles of the palatial and non-palatial economies and how the palatial system affected mainland Greece.
