Visiting Scholar

Wu Xiujie “Xiu” will be a visiting scholar in the department for 2008-09, where she will work in the Human Evolution Laboratory with Professor Schepartz. Xiu is a specialist on brain evolution in Chinese hominins and craniofacial changes in later Chinese populations. She is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. Her recent field projects include excavations in Hubei Province at the Huanglong Cave where early Homo sapiens remains were discovered, and the Bailong Cave, a Homo erectus locality.
