Research Interests and Activities

• Cultural Anthropology: Religion and cultural symbolism, educational anthropology, and cultural theory.
• Africa and Southern United States: West African Sudan and rural South. Religious experience and community life.
• Humanistic anthropolgy: Ethnographic narrative, fiction, poetry and dramatic performance. Critical studies.
• Peace Studies: Conflict resolution, synergy and systems theory, evolution of warfare, prisoner rehabilitation.
