Samples taken from a small (at the time) dry oxbow in south
Texas provided excellent pollen samples and help to reconstruct the environment back to at least 10,000
years before present (BP). The portability and maneuverability of the FSU Geoprobe system is a major
advantage compared to other larger less portable soil coring systems. If you can walk to a location you
can generally get the Geoprobe system in.
