Academics
Florida State University faculty and students have
conducted archaeological research on submerged cultural resources,
including shipwrecks and submerged prehistoric sites. Students work
closely with their major advisor as they select courses and plan
research. Faculty, staff, and students of Florida State University
have conducted archaeological fieldwork under water since the early
1950's, longer than any other academic institution that we know
of.
Once departmental requirements for degrees are met, students
have the option to focus on particular fields and disciplines, but no special
degrees are awarded in maritime archaeology.
ALL GRADUATE APPLICATION MATERIALS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JANUARY
1, 2005.
